“Esto Somos” (“This is Us”), a series of documentaries about popular art design in Mexico, followed by a Q&A with esteemed anthropologist Marta Turok. Produced by the Mexican production company La Maroma.

ARTESANOS DE MÉXICO | 52 min Hosted by the renowned anthropologist Marta Turok, “Artesanos de México: Popular Art Routes” is a documentary that seeks to portray the work and technique of the most renowned Mexican artisans, on a journey where we will learn about the expressions of folk art in which the objects are the main characters of our history and culture.

Followed by five 3 minutes shorts focusing on individual artisans.

Marta Turok is a Mexican applied anthropologist focusing on socio-economic development, and one of the foremost schools on Mexican folk art. Through research, government work, education and advocacy, she has worked to raise the prestige of Mexican handcrafts and folk art and to help artisans improve their economic status. Her work has been recognized with awards from various governmental and non-governmental agencies.
