The story of her craft is rooted in family tradition. She truly enjoys her work and does it with love, it is 100% original folk art. She has been practicing it since she was six years old. She learned it from her grandmother and mother, and now she teaches it to her own children.
The designs reflect the flora and fauna of the region. Her family is humble and of Indigenous Otomí origin, they speak the Otomí language. The materials they use include cotton cloth (manta), thread, needles, hoops, and a pencil to sketch the designs. While they originally embroidered only on manta, they now also work with fabrics like linen and silk.
