Guadalupe is from San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, Méxicoand preserves a fading folk art tradition by continuing a unique form of religious art, rooftop wrought-iron crosses, Calacas, and trees of life. This work displays a wide mix of both Christian and indigenous symbols, using techniques introduced by the Spaniards in the 1500s. The studio also produces unique, one-of-a-kind household objects, such as napkin holders, door knockers, latches, and light switch covers.
