Tzintzuntzan, Michoacán

Angelica Morales is from Tzintzuntzan, in the state of Michoacán, México. Her drawings of mermaids, fish, moons, and all things whimsical, are done on amate paper, a type of paper with the appearance of a fibrous vegetal sheet. Angelica also produces ceramics with these same whimsical designs, made with a lead-free glaze for domestic and/or ornamental use. Her skills also include brightly colored embroidery on cotton fabric.
